We provide two types of air travel services:

Air Manny

Our concierge, door-to-door service to and from major airports within the continental United States, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands. This service is limited to which types of animals, size restrictions, and breeds are allowed inside the main cabin for domestic travel.  Your pet will be personally escorted within the main cabin for the duration of their travel from airport to airport.  This is the fastest, safest, and least stressful form of travel for your pet.

Air Manny services are generally limited to canines and felines, one pet per trip, up to 20lbs (up to 35lbs may be acceptable depending on breed, which must be pre-approved before scheduling).  Some exceptions may apply to transporting multiple pets such as nursing mothers with a litter of kittens/puppies or two siblings under six months, and some other select household pets.

***This service is currently offered to and from South Florida in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties.  Requests for services outside of these areas are possible and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • We ensure all flight documents are accurate and complete
  • We coach you on exactly what is needed and what to expect during the check-in and pick-up processes at the airport

AIR MANNY FAQs

Why choose TPPT for Air Manny service?

ME! You are choosing TPPT because I will personally be your pet’s Air Manny for the duration of their trip.  My wife and I have two dogs, Angie and Luca (INSERT PICTURES).  They are not just our pets, they are FAMILY!  I understand how important your pet(s) are to you and want to you.  MY goal is to provide your pet with the fastest, safest, and least stressful transport to and from each airport.  While your pet is in MY care, I will treat your pet with the same love and attention as if they were my own!  MY mission is “Safely delivering smiles one pet at a time!”

Air Manny is an accompanied, Concierge transport service for your pet.  You may find other flight alternatives (unaccompanied flight transport in cargo), private ground transport, or shared ground transport.  Although these alternatives may be more cost-effective, each does have their cons such as a higher stress environment for your pet or extremely long transport times. Did you know some shared ground transport services can take as long as 10-days to transport your pet!?  I also provide text messaging and photo updates during transport (when not in flight) so you know your pet is comfortable and safe!

What sizes and breeds of pets are eligible for Air Manny transport?

Generally limited to canines and felines, one pet per trip, up to 20lbs (up to 35lbs may be acceptable depending on breed, which must be pre-approved before scheduling).  Also rabbits, household birds, hamsters, and guinea pigs may be accompanied in the cabin on flights within the US. Some exceptions may apply to transporting multiple pets such as nursing mothers with a litter of kittens/puppies or two siblings under six months (which must be pre-approved before scheduling).

Your pet must be able to fit in a soft-sided carrier, with ventilation on three sides, and NO LARGER than 18″ x 12″ x 12″ .  The carrier should weigh no more than 22lbs with the pet.  Your pet MUST be able to stand, sit, turn around normally, and lie down in a natural position in their carrier without touching the sides or top of the carrier.

Although the USDA provides federal regulations and guidelines for transporting pets within the main cabin on domestic flights, each airline has their own set of regulations which may limit certain breeds or limit transport of animals with aggressive dispositions.

Please complete the Pet Transport Questionnaire (link) and we will reach out to you to let you know if your pet is eligible for this concierge service.

***At check-in If your pet is larger than the maximum weight acceptable and was not pre-approved prior to transport, the pet may be denied transport or the additional fees for overweight pet will apply and need to be paid before your pet is released.  NO REFUND will be permitted of any fees if the pet is denied transport due to non-weight disclosure.

How much does Air Manny concierge pet transport cost?
  • Air Manny’s transport fee starts at $.75 per mile traveled for the one-way trip with your pet.  Mileage is calculated from airport to airport based on the one-way trip
  • The client is responsible for the cost of the transporter’s flight ticket, the pet’s flight ticket, and ALL applicable taxes and fees from the airline (these costs will vary depending on airline used, dates of travel, etc…).  Remember, the more flexible you are with your travel dates and the further out you request Air Manny services the more flight options we can present to you to choose from.  Once you choose the best flight option for your pet the travel expenses will be billed on the final invoice
  • There is an additional fee of $200 for any travel arrangements you select with a layover lasting longer than three hours (unless the extended layover is caused by unforeseen travel changes made by the airline such as a flight being delayed while your pet is in transit)
  • Weekend and Holiday travel requests are subject to additional fees.  These fees will be determined when you submit your Pet Transport Questionnaire (link)
  • Please remember our service is offered door-to-door to/from most major airports if your pet is traveling to/from South Florida in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties.  We can arrange ground transport for your pet to and from the drop-off and pick-up airports for an additional fee.
  • Urgent travel requests.  Life happens and we understand unexpected circumstances arise.  We are here to help you with any last-minute or urgent travel requests.  Urgent travel requests, if approved and scheduled, will be billed at $1.25 per mile traveled for the one-way trip with your pet from airport to airport.  Urgent travel requests may be subject to additional Weekend or Holiday rates depending on the travel window provided.  Urgent travel requests are any booking made within less than seven days of the requested departure date.
  • Pets over 20lbs are charged an overweight fee ($100-$350 depending on weight) in addition to the transport fee. Pets that are overweight are also charged more for pet carriers and carrier service. In some instances, you may not be able to provide a carrier for your overweight pet and we MUST provide the carrier for you. If your pet’s weight is not disclosed prior to transport starting, the shipper or receiver will be required to pay the additional fee, or the transport will be canceled with NO REFUND ISSUED

***We will DO OUR BEST to provide a minimum of three different flight options for you to choose from for your pet’s travel based on the date(s) given.  Please remember, my goal is to research and identify the most direct flights with the shortest layover times possible (if a layover cannot be avoided).  This is to ensure your pet gets to their destination as quickly and safely as possible, with the least amount of stress possible.  Please understand flight options may be limited based on your pet’s breed, their size (if your pet qualifies as an overweight pet), drop-off airport location, pick-up airport location, and requested travel dates.

Are there booking fees and a deposit for your services? What is your cancellation and refund policy?

YES!  We accept Air Manny bookings on a first come, first serve basis. The booking fee is NON-REFUNDABLE as this secures my services for your requested date(s).  Each transport is unique and your pet’s transport requires my time to research available flight options for your their transport.  Once you select the flight option that is best for your pet, I will then book the airline ticket for myself and the pet ticket for your pet.  Please understand that once I accept your transport, I am unable to offer my services to another client, this is why my booking fee is NON-REFUNDABLE.

Client must pre-pay a NON-REFUNDABLE Booking Fee and 50% deposit at the time of scheduling the transport. The booking fee, deposit, and all payments are accepted through SQUARE only by debit or credit card. (LINK TO SQUARE). The booking fees and deposit requirements are as follows:

  • Transports scheduled 30-8 days prior to the requested departure date the booking fee is $150 + 50% deposit of estimated transport fee
  • Transports scheduled within 7 days or less prior to the departure date the booking fee is $300 + 50% of my estimated transport fee
  • Final Invoice: The 50% transport fee deposit will be credited towards the total of the final invoice. The final invoice will include the cost of the flight ticket, the cost of the pet ticket, any additional charges from the airlines that may apply (i.e. overweight pet fee), the airlines taxes and applicable service charges for the tickets, the remaining balance for the transport fee, and 7% sales tax (on the transport fee only). All invoices are due to be paid in full once airline tickets for the trip have been purchased by TPPT and the final invoice is submitted to the client
  • Cancellation and Refund Policy:
    • Booking Fee is NON-REFUNDABLE
    • If either party cancels your pet’s transportation before the flight tickets are purchased by TPPT, then only half of the initial 50% transport fee deposit will be refunded
    • Due to the nature of my business, if either party cancels your pet’s transportation after my services have been scheduled and paid for, NO REFUND WILL BE ISSUED. At my discretion I may choose to credit your account (not redeemable for cash) for future use towards a transport of the same routing or for a lesser priced transport at a later date (subject to availability).  An additional Booking Fee will be applied to ALL rescheduled transports
    • If TPPT is unable to secure and book a flight for your pet the entire transport fee deposit will be refunded. This is very rare and we try to avoid these scenarios as best as possible with our Air Manny  However, sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise such as not finding available flights with a reputable airline for your date(s) requested or not finding flight options to/from your desired drop-off and pick-up locations.  Again, the more flexibility you have with the dates for your pet’s travel window the better!
I am very interested in Air Manny concierge pet transport, and I have submitted my Air Manny Questionnaire. What are the next steps?

Once we receive your Pet Transport Questionnaire (link) please allow up to 48hrs for a someone from our team to respond to your request.

If your requested travel dates are available and your pet is pre-approved for Air Manny transport the following steps will are:

  • Before a transport can be scheduled, each party involved in the transport (Consignor and Acceptor) will need to READ and SIGN an agreement, which will need to be returned to TPPT prior to scheduling Air Manny services
  • Once the Consignor and Acceptor agreements are received and the booking fee is received by TPPT, all parties will receive email confirmation that your pet’s transport has been scheduled
  • Once the pet’s transport is scheduled TPPT will provide available flight options with travel times and ticket pricing. You will choose which of these options is best suited for your pet’s transport. Flight options will be provided within 24-48 hours once transport is scheduled
  • It is the Consignor’s responsibility to schedule and provide valid documentation that your pet has had a VET HEALTH CHECK for travel completed no more than 10 days prior to the travel date. This is NON NEGOTAIBLE!  This is to ensure your pet is deemed healthy enough for travel by a professional.  It is also to ensure the safety of all passengers (and passenger pets!) who are aboard the flight.  Failure to provide a valid vet health check on or before meeting the Consignor for the transport will result in immediate cancellation of the transport WITHOUT A REFUND!
  • At least 72 hours prior to the date of the transport TPPT will email both the shipper and receiver the pet’s travel itinerary. The itinerary will include all the information needed for both the Consignor and Acceptor to understand and complete their duties.  The itinerary will include the date of transport, drop-off and pick-up times, meeting location inside the airport, and my contact information.
  • All parties involved in Air Manny transport services MUST have access to a working mobile phone with text messaging services so we may communicate throughout the transport
  • FAA regulations at all US airports only allow ticketed passengers in the gate areas. Due to this fact, and not to confuse clients, we do not provide flight information to clients. This is not a personal matter, but rather TPPT’s professional policy. Instead, we provide all parties with the necessary information for safely meeting via the pet’s travel itinerary.  We believe this helps to streamline the meeting process and eliminate any unnecessary delays on the day of travel.
  •
My pet can be nervous or anxious and I know they do not travel well. Do you recommend any medications to ease their stress during travel?

NO, I AM NOT A VETERINARIAN! However, a vet can help you decide if medication is the right choice for your pet to reduce stress and anxiety during their travel.  This is a great point of conversation to bring up during your pet’s required VET HEALTH CHECK.

Consignor Duties - Acceptor Duties - What happens after my pet’s transport is complete?

Consignor Duties (Day of Transport)

  • On the day of transport Air Manny will text the Consignor with any updates on flight status (e.g. if flight is delayed, cancelled or any other concerns that will affect transport) prior to the Consignor’s arrival at the airport

Why choose TPPT for pet relocation services?

  • Detailed list of all vaccines and documents your pet(s) will require to fly
  • Specific travel crate requirements for your pet including type and size of crate your pet(s) need
  • We will research and provide the best flight option(s) for your pet(s) based on the travel dates you provide. Providing a “travel window” if your dates are flexible will help us to locate the best rates possible

Once you have approved the flight option which is best for your pet(s) we will:

  • Provide a personalized checklist and itinerary to guide you throughout the relocation process which include:
    • Date range for your pet(s) health certificate exam with your vet
    • We will review your health certificate and all travel documentation to make sure it is properly completed to avoid any travel delays
    • We will provide a custom shopping list for each pet to ensure they you have all the necessary items and to help make their trip as comfortable as possible

    • We will provide travel updates throughout the duration of your pet’s flight to ensure they arrive safely at their destination and have been picked up from the airport
Is air cargo travel safe for my pet(s)?

YES!  Are travel can be a very safe form of relocation travel for your pet(s).  This is why the USDA requires a vet health check within 10 days of domestic travel to ensure your pet is physically healthy enough to fly.   We also recommend ensuring you have the correct crate (and that the pet is properly acclimated to the crate), a reputable airline with great pet accommodations, and selecting the most direct flight available.  We are here to help offer you guidance and suggestions to ensure your pet has the safest, least stressful move as possible.

My pet is being transported in cargo. Does this mean they are flying with the luggage?

NO! Unaccompanied pets flying commercially are manifested as live animal cargo.  This means they must fly below the main cabin.  However, reputable airlines that commercially transport pets as “cargo” have a separate, designated area for live animals.  This area is completely pressurized, oxygenated, and temperature controlled to ensure your pet travels as comfortably as possible.

If your pet’s travel plans have any layovers, they will be removed from the plane and held in a live animal facility for safe keeping.  They are transported to and from these facilities in temperature-controlled vehicles for comfort and safety.

How is the cost of my pet’s flight determined?

As pets are considered live animal manifested cargo their airfare is based on the total weight of the crate with your pet in it.

Are there any breeds that have air travel restrictions?

YES!  Brachycephalic breeds, also known as snub-nose breeds, such as Boston Terriers, Boxers, French Bulldogs, Bulldogs, and Pugs.  These breeds are more susceptible to altitude and temperature changes during air travel.  Most airlines that accept these breeds will restrict cargo travel if the temperature is too hot or too cold (above 75° or below 45° Fahrenheit).

Some airlines have restrictions that apply to larger breeds such as Mastiffs or Great Danes.  Due to their size and stronger nature, if larger breeds are accepted, airlines may require kennels that are reinforced and made from metal or wood (often custom built).

Some airlines have restrictions on specific breeds which have been deemed to be more aggressive such as American Staffordshire Terries and Pit Bull Terriers.

Each airline has different pet accommodations or breed restrictions.  TPPT is here to expertly guide you through this process and take the guess work and frustration out of making these travel arrangements yourself.

What kind of crate does my pet need and where can I buy one?

The USDA has outlined specific federal laws that dictate travel crate specifications that airlines can accept for pets traveling in cargo.  Let TPPT help you take the guess work out of your pet’s travel and ensure you have the appropriate crate for your pet! Federal requirements for crates:

  • Must allow pets to be able to lie down, turn around, and stand without restriction
  • Must Have a minimum of 2-3 inches of clearance from roof of the crate to the top of the pet’s head or ears (whichever is higher)
  • Must be four-sided, hard plastic, with a solid bottom half
  • Must have a metal grill door and the crate should be fashioned with metal nuts and bolts
  • CANNOT be collapsible, have wheels, have a door/opening at the top of the crate, have latches, or plastic doors
  • Must have two bowls (one for food and one for water). We recommend attaching them to metal grill door so they can be refilled easily without opening the crate

***All airlines require pets traveling in cargo to be in approved crates.  However, some airlines may have different requirements for larger, stronger breeds which may require a custom-built crate.  Some airlines DO NOT accommodate extra-large or custom-built crates.

I purchased the recommended crate, now what? How can I ensure my pet is comfortable in their travel crate before departure?

TPPT recommends the following best practices to ensure your pet is comfortable in their crate for the duration of their trip:

  • Acclimate your pet(s) to their crate as earlier as possible before travel to ensure they are familiar with the crate. Traveling can be stressful for your pet, so this is an important step to reduce their stress in a new environment
  • Leave a small towel, shirt, or blanket with your scent on it in the crate. This will help make your pet(s) more comfortable and feel as if you are there with them
  • If your pet has a favorite small toy leave that in the crate with them
  • Line the bottom of the crate with quick-drying, leak proof pee pads to help keep your pet(s) as dry and clean as possible during their trip
  • DO NOT feed your pet(s) a heavy meal before flying or leave a full meal in the crate with them. A very small amount of dry kibble can be left in the carrier
  • We recommend filling one bowl with water and freezing it the day before the flight. The water will slowly melt in the bowl while in the crate and reduce the chances of water spilling out during transport.   Airline personnel are trained to check your pet’s crate for water and will refill the water as needed.
  • Make sure on the day of travel you allow your pet out for a restroom break at the airport before check-in with the airline
  • Understand that potty accidents happen! Your pet(s) are in a new and potentially stressful environment.  We recommend whomever is picking up your pet(s) at their destination bring animal safe wet wipes and fresh pee pads to help clean your pet and make sure they are comfortable after arrival
Can I put multiple pets in the same crate?

Airlines dictate that only pet per crate is allowed except in two circumstances:

  • The pets are a nursing mother with her puppies or kittens
  • The pets are two siblings under six months of age with a combined weight less than 20lbs
Will my pet(s) be kept in their crate for the entirety of the trip?

YES and NO.  Airlines WILL leave your pet(s) in their crate for the entirety of the trip.  However, some airlines will offer comfort stops at an additional expense for your pet if the travel day is longer than eight hours and the trip includes a layover.  These comfort stops typically include allowing your pet out of the carrier for a potty break, exercise, and to be fed.

How come my pet(s) can only be transported during the week? What if weekend travel better fits my schedule?

Please remember that pet(s) are treated and flown as manifested cargo.  Most airlines will fly your pet(s) in and out of their cargo building.  Typically, on weekends, most airlines’ cargo facilities are either closed or offer limited hours, which affects pet relocation/travel.  Similarly, for pet(s) being transported into the US, customs will not accept pets for clearance if their arrival date falls on a weekend.

What is the length of time my pet will be required to travel?

Most pets are relocated within the same day depending on your pet’s departure and destination cities.  Your pet will fly just like their “Hooman(s)” and may have a layover during their trip.  We make every effort to book the most direct flight possible for your pet.  However, if a layover is required, please be aware that there are mandated layover lengths for pets to ensure your pet is has a wellness check from the airline, offered water, and given ample time to make their connecting flight.  We will aim to book the shortest layover possible.

How much does pet relocation cost? What are TPPT’s fees and payment schedule? What happens if I must cancel my pet’s travel at the last minute?

Pet relocation costs varies depending on many factors including, but not limited to: drop-off location and pick-up destination; trip distance; size and weight of pet(s) in their carrier(s); which airline is chosen for the flight (each airline’s fees are different); and any additional services that may be added (i.e. comfort stops).

TPPT’s Pet Relocation Consultation fee starts at $350 for domestic travel and $600 for international travel.  This fee must be pre-paid and is NON-REFUNDABLE.   The pet relocation consultation fee payments are accepted through SQUARE only by debit or credit card.

REVIEWS FROM OUR CLIENTS

Rick D.

Our dogs are a special part of our family. We were nervous when first looking for a dog walker. Fortunately we found the best person to assist us. Matthew does a wonderful job taking care of our dogs. He has done pet sitting for us in the past and also does weekly dog walking. He instantly bonded with our dogs from day one and they can’t wait for their walks with him. He’s very knowledgeable and genuinely cares. If you’re looking for a professional, reliable and caring dog walker or dog sitter I highly recommend Matthew’s services. You will not be disappointed.

Liz R.

Matthew has been a highly competent dog walker at the animal shelter where I am the event coordinator for over a year, and he is among the most responsible, warm-hearted, caring and respectful young men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He has a genuine feeling for our dogs that can’t be faked, an ability to calm the most anxious of rescue animals and get through to the most fearful so that they are soon walking happily on the leash in his confident hand. I would gladly trust Matthew with my own beloved dog Puff if he only covered the area where I live! He spends a great deal of his own free time here because he honestly loves these dogs as if they were his own, and I believe he radiates that passion towards all the animals he transports and walks in his business…he simply can’t help it!

Casie R.

We are a full time working family with 2 very active dogs. Matthew has been a lifesaver for us! He truly cares for our dogs and makes sure that they get a great long walk to burn off their energy during the day. He is prompt and reliable. I highly recommend him and so do Willa and Gidget!

Lili H.

I trust Matt with my fur babies and he is always their favorite bud. His care for animals is evident and he is well trained to care for the pickiest of our fur babies. If you are looking for someone to love your babies just as much as you do look no further!

Shelby S.

I highly recommend Matt! I have a very rambunctious teenage boxer, Deano. Matt instantly connected with him, and made me feel so at ease. Deano enjoyed getting out of the house, and getting some exercise! We will definitely be regulars!
